Silhouette will be our last CD so it is an emotional one for us.
Due to the realities of streaming and the demise
of the CD as a format it will no longer be financially viable in the future, so it is the end of an era for us.
Every musician on this album and their brilliant performances exist because of the generosity of you dear friends.
When you hear the whole album we hope you will agree it is a worthy time capsule. The list of all the people we need to thank is too numerous to fit on this page but we thank you one and all.
A special thanks to Doug Edwards, Purl Retsina & Juan, Paul Jackson, Catherine Wishart, Roy & Marion Nicholson, Matt Barletta, Keith and Rachel Milne, Rike Kullack and Maureen Cahill. We would also like to thank Elly Mantzaris and John Durr for the wonderful artwork and pressing of every CD we have made and to Jim Blackfoot and Linda Nagel for the great mics. We could not have made this album without the huge assistance of the world class musicians who played on it.
This recording would also not be possible without many generous contributions, both privately and from our Indiegogo crowd fundaiser. We can’t thank you enough.

MALALA 04:12
Malala (Yousafzai) © Tony King 2017 She was born into a poem That was started long ago You can hear the tears of a thousand years In the wind from there when it blows In the dust of the Swat Valley The place she held so dear She loved it with all her life She loved it without fear Malala Yousafzai The future was written in your eyes Malala Yousafzai Your thoughts will never die will never die She was raised to be a leader Wisdom past her years She thought girls should be allowed to learn But the Taliban had other ideas They shot her on a school bus put a bullet in her brain but her poem wasn’t finished and her Phoenix rose again Malala Yousafzai The future was written in your eyes Malala Yousafzai Your thoughts will never die will never die With the best of Doctors care they gave all they had to give she recovered even braver, more aware for a bullet cannot kill an idea that was always born to live. Girls will go to school and the future testify That you cannot kill a poem that will never, that will never die. Malala Yousafzai The future was written in your eyes Malala Yousafzai Your thoughts will never die will never die Malala Yousafzai The future was written in your eyes Malala Yousafzai Your thoughts will never die will never die

FETCH ME MY COMB © T. KING 2017 Chorus: Fetch me my comb and I’ll play you a song Bring out the spoons and we’ll all sing along We’ll make something stronger Than the sum of the parts And make up for what’s broken inside of our hearts Once in a life you meet people Around which your whole world resolves And the midnight to dawn revolutions somehow got everything solved and sometimes the thread of a friendship Is invisible as you grow old But it won’t break with the strain or go rusty in the rain cause you know that it’s made of pure gold yeah you know that it’s made of pure gold Chorus They’ll give you a nip for your nightmares And a hug when the grim reaper knocks And shoehorn a little more time for you That was never really there on the clocks I’m blessed with all of my friendships And you’re as good as it gets So don't rush for the last train Til we’ve sung away the pain And the moon turns us all to silhouettes Yeah the moon turns us all to silhouettes Chorus And they’d lie under oath for your family And give you the last sip from the well And save you from the worst things about you And light up that road back from Hell And they love your old beat up piano That sounds a lot like you feel There’s something about a smile as the ships goin down That’s stronger than any known steel Yeah that’s stronger than any known steel

Silhouette 04:27
Silhouette © Tony King 2017 Silhouette silhouette Is the day devouring the night Or darkness overpowering the light The argument between the black and white A conundrum over who is wrong and right Silhouette silhouette The power over who has right of way The louder voice who has the final say Who says there is no other way to pray The final word keeps other truths at bay Silhouette silhouette Where the light Fights the darkness to be freed There are devils There are angels It's up to me Which one I feed solo Silhouette silhouette Reduced to two dimensions in the sky With a righteous hand over one eye The tethered bird of reason cannot fly Reduced to hell or heaven when you die Silhouette silhouette Where the light Fights the darkness to be freed There are devils There are angels It's up to me Which one I feed

The Red White & Blue © Tony King 2016 I was a soldier Fought for the red white & blue But you can't un-see what you've seen & you can't undo what they told you to do. But what the army won't tell you the war is worse when you're home Your family don't know you & you'd rather be on your own Ch: They turned us into soldiers We traded life’s pleasures for pain & now my war is over But all I see is the slain What was chilling me & now killing me Is that they can't turn us back into Fathers & mothers, sisters & brothers & sons & daughters again. I tried to sort myself out With the shrinks, the pills & the booze But old friends are keeping their distance I came back with a short fuse And my hand that had wiped out the enemy The General is shaking with pride But I'm spending my life in a jail of my own Cause I can't kill the enemy inside Ch: They turned us into soldiers & we traded life's pleasures for pain But now my war is over & all I see is the slain What was chilling me & now killing me Is they can't turn us back into Fathers & mothers, sisters & brothers & sons & daughters again. I tried one last time for the kids We holidayed in the rain But how the hell Do you put this Jigsaw puzzle back together again. I'm no bloody coward & I'm no disgrace I tried til I was red white & blue in the face But how the hell do you put this Jigsaw puzzle back together again. But how the hell do you put this Jigsaw puzzle back together again. * All the royalties for this song go to help soldiers who suffer from PTSD.

Just stay 04:07
JUST STAY © T.KING 2017 Don't you dare Go through the final door I’ll search the heaven’s for a way To win your war To throw you pain & all your broken bits Where they can’t hurt you anymore Just stay Just stay Don't you ever leave don't you ever Leave us on the shore We've songs to sing & drinks to pour I'll fight your demons Like a warrior with my own bare hands Just stay Just stay Solo Don't you dare don't you dare leave the stage Against the darkness we’re begging you to rage We’ll take your tears and all that tortured you So you don’t feel it anymore Just stay Just stay

Scratch 04:35
SCRATCH © T.King / K.Ralph 2017 Rules are for the guidance of the wise and the obedience of any fool I learned to tell the truth from all the lies I learned it all when I left school I’d never come this far from wishing on a star Once upon a time I’d be burned as a witch Just for scratching where I itch I dance to the beat of my own drum Squeeze the joy out of the rain I wasn't put on Earth just to be numb I’d rather risk it all than feel no pain In matters of the heart I’ll never be kept apart Once upon a time I’d be burned as a witch Just for scratching where I itch Solo outro

Frida 05:36
Your dream of being a doctor was in vain A crashing bus caused you a life of pain In hospital you painted in your bed Surreal but it was what was in your head Then Diego came You flew into his flame Drinking in the pain With paint and tears and love Frida you surrendered your smile Frida the man was your child and your lover and your universe for a while. The ecstasy and torture of his love The marriage of the elephant to the dove Crippled by your legs and his affairs In the shadows of his murals you were there With lovers of your own Still you felt alone The need for him had grown With paint and tears and love Frida you surrendered your smile Frida the man was your child and your lover and your universe for a while. Everything was blue inside the house The man of words was quiet as a mouse You’d painted all that needed to be said He lay there right beside you on your bed Sacred as a psalm He held you in his arms Til your mind was calm Until the pain... faded from your head Frida you surrendered your smile Frida the man was your child Frida you surrendered your smile Frida the man was your child and your lover and your universe for a while

Dust if you must Written by Rose Milligan 1885/Music © Copyright 2016 T.King Dust if you must but wouldn’t it be better To paint a picture or write a letter Bake a cake or plant a seed Ponder the difference between want and need? Dust if you must, Dust if you must Dust if you must But there isn’t much time With rivers to swim and mountains to climb Music to hear and books to read Friends to cherish and life to lead Dust if you must, Dust if you must Dust if you must but the world is out there With the sun in your eyes, the wind in your hair A flutter of snow, a shower of rain This day will never come round again Dust if you must, Dust if you must Dust if you must but please bear in mind Old age will come and it isn’t kind And when you go and go you must You yourself... will make more dust.

We’re here today to bury Harry © Copyright 2016 T.King We’re here today to bury Harry He’s no longer living in the here and now He’s now married to his lawful wedded Wifi Apples terms and their conditions were their vows In the constant updating of his status He’s no longer aware of who I am His life was taken tragically by Facebook On the corner of Twitter and Instagram He used to dance and loved a conversation Long ago before he got online But now he LOL’s instead of laughing His eyes are on the screen and not on mine We’re here today to bury Harry He was always very happy in his day But now there’s no reaction when you can poke him with your finger ‘Cause he’s typing to a stranger miles away. We lowered his body into his favourite chat room With his password and his user name Surrounded by his favourite emoticons He had million followers But to his funeral No-one came We’re here today to bury Harry We’re here today to bury Harry

As The Earth (Would Miss the Sun) © K.Ralph (lyrics & music) /Tony King (music) Love was stopped in it’s tracks As the boy disappeared from the Moon Nothing could bring you back Every star burst like a balloon You vanished into space Leaving behind a salty veil Forever tattooed on my face For death is life’s betrayal I miss you as the Earth would miss the Sun You were my light the captivating one I miss you as the Earth would miss the Sun Total eclipse has begun Loneliness cuts to the core Pain can’t be undone Oh to touch you once more Solo Gentleness is hard to find Kindness and goodwill Bravery, a brilliant mind Your shoes impossible to fill I miss you as the Earth would miss the Sun You were my light the captivating one I miss you as the Earth would miss the Sun You were my light the captivating one I miss you as the Earth would miss the Sun

Beam me up 07:04
Beam me up © Copyright 2017 T.King Now the world has lost it’s marbles In a game that mad men play Messing up the world that we so dearly love Our sacred habitat betrayed Chorus: Beam me up, Beam me up There’s madness overflowing from the cup Beam me up, Beam me up There’s madness overflowing from the cup Let’s leave our psychopathic leaders Lets send a May Day to the stars We’ll pack our friends into the transport beam With some love and our guitars Chorus I got a message from the Tardis From a busy Dr Who Says he’s found a perfect untouched world If we don’t spoil the new one too Beam me up, Beam me up There’s madness overflowing from the cup Beam me up, Beam me up There’s must be a place There’s has to be a place There’s got to be a place To beam me up

about

Beautifully Mad Sydney, Australia

Breathtaking original music reminiscent of the beauty of James Taylor, some honey from Melody Gardot, a lyrical spice of Cohen washed down with some Waits-like humour. A musical flame that licks at the heels of Folk and Jazz
